Toast oats in coconut oil or butter for 3-5 minutes. At the beginning add cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and salt. Take the toasted outs out of the pot and add 1/2 water 1/2 coconut milk. Bring to a boil. Return the oats to the boiling liquid. Cook until most of the liquid is absorbed. Serve with milk, coconut milk, or heavy cream. Add chopped pecans or walnuts. Sweeten with brown sugar and/or real maple syrup. If it is still too hot, add frozen fruit to cool it off.
Don't forget to soak your pot in hot water immediately so you don't have to scrape it later.
